Smiley showed up at the Thorndale Pound with a sweet attitude and a funny way of smiling.  She is sweet, loving and gets along with other dogs.  Don't mistake her bearing her teeth as aggression because it is really just a smile.  Smiley had a wound on her neck from a bad infection.  When the vet did x-rays she found a jaw that had been badly broken then healed without medical attention. The jaw fused in such a way that Smiley can't open her mouth beyond what it is now. Even if Smiley wanted to bite she can't. This injury in most dogs would of been fatal as it would of prevented them from eating, but Smiley is persistent and has figured out how to eat and drink.  Smiley needs a dedicated loving owner that will be careful to see after her special medical needs which are not difficult, but must be taken seriously.  She is a little bit greedy with her food bowl so other dogs would have to be fed separate to give Smiley a chance to eat at her own pace.  Best with non-aggressive dogs or as an only dog because she can not defend herself in a fight.  Not tested with cats. Smiley is approximately 18 months old.
