Ariel is an about 9 year old miniature schnauzer who was found wrapped in briars and barbed wire. Her rescuers had heard crying for a few days, but they assumed that their neighbors had a dog who wanted attention or to go inside. When they went to talk with the neighbors, it turned out that no one around them owned a dog, so the search was on! Ariel was in very bad shape when she was taken to the shelter, and they called around to find a rescue group who could help this tough little girl.
Because Ariel may have been chased into the barbed wire, she is still a little defensive around larger dogs. However, she absolutely adores cats, and her foster mom's non-dog friendly kitties think she is okay.
She is very sweet and a bit of a shadow dog to her foster mom. Ariel has had a few accidents in the house, but she is also recovering from her injuries. She has a dental scheduled for April 20 due to very bad teeth and will be available for adoption after then.
