Chipper is approximately 12 year old Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu mix, he is house trained, however, he is getting old and can’t wait all day.  He needs to be supervised when outside. Chipper is happy to lay next to someone and get brushed.  Milk bones are a favorite with Chipper and he knows when you say milk bones. Though he does like brushing, he’s not fond of having his feet picked over and will act a little bit nippy.  Chipper is good with cats and dogs but I don’t think he is a good pet for a house with very small children.  He is nearly blind but does see well enough to go up and down stairs.  His front legs are permanently bowed from what looks like a birth defect according to the veterinarian. He’s 26 pounds and that’s a perfect weight for him.  With his legs he doesn’t need to gain any weight. Though Chipper does take some long naps, he enjoys spending a lot of his time following his foster mom around.  Chipper came to CPP because his original owner passed away.  She was most concerned about the care that Chipper would get when she was gone and we want to live up to that expectation that he gets a wonderful caring home.
