Monkey was trapped right before hurricane Harvey. She was very sick from being malnourished and eaten alive with fleas and ticks. We pulled over 50 ticks just out of her ears. We also had to take her to the vet for antibiotics, ear and skin meds. So far we've spent $160 for her vet visit.
UPDATE from Foster Nov 15, 2017:
Monkey is approximately 6 months old. The vet believes she is a Golden Retriever/Australian Shepard mix. She is high energy, in part because she's still young but I believe it's also because of her breed. We live on a farm. We walk her a couple times a day. She does great on her leash and harness. We've also worked on socializing her with our dogs, cats and guineas. She's great with other dogs, very playful. She's fine with cats under supervision. If they lay next to her or walk by she pays them no attention. However, if they run the chase is on. Even though she will chase the cats, she's never shown any signs that she intends to hurt them. She knows how to sit and stay - and she's kennel trained. At night we bring her inside and she stays in a wire kennel or a puppy rounder. Monkey is high energy, eager to please, extremely smart and always excited to learn new things.
Her current weight is 40lbs. She was spayed a week ago, is up to date on all her shots, on heart-worm preventative and is micro-chipped.
